TAUS introduces a new contest and prize: the TAUS World Readiness Contest and Award. This new competition is open to all providers of language services and technologies from start-ups to global enterprises with internal global technology and solutions teams. The TAUS Award will go to the company with the best chances to win the hearts and minds of global citizens and customers in new locales and markets, until now poorly served due to a lack of language coverage and suitable applications for their specific markets.
The award criteria will be: a) extent and specifics of new human language/domain coverage, b) interoperability of tech solutions to ensure broad take-up, c) inclusive design choices to anticipate future market-readiness, d) non-intrusive measurability of success.
All innovators interested in taking part in the contest are requested to submit their proposal. The call for proposals closed on 15 November at midnight.
All proposals will be reviewed by the Program Committee. By end of August, ten companies are invited to come to California and present their innovation.
The presentations will be in Pecha-Kucha style. Each presenter has 6 minutes. Unlike the official Pecha Kucha style we are not very strict with the number of slides and the number of seconds you spend on each slide. However, there will be a timer on the big screen that counts down from 6 minutes until your time is up.
After all the presentations, all conference attendees receive a link to vote for the best contestant.
The winner will receive the first ever TAUS World-Readiness Award, a unique piece of TAUS artwork. They will also get special exposure on the TAUS website and social media through press releases and blog posts.
